Children of the Damned (1964) or, The Super Kids Hysteria!

You clearly see why this film was X-rated from its poster, - or do you? Anton M. Leader's Children of the Damned

QUICK REVIEW:

When an intelligence test from the UN reveals 6 ultra-intelligent kids, the Cold War super powers reach their dirty, military fingers down over the scientists. The children entrench themselves in a church, while everything escalates outside.
Children of the Damned features neat and effective photography by Davis Boulton (The Haunting (1963)) and minimalist effects; eyes, sound effects and general paranoia. The children are not pure evil, but they want to be left in peace.
The film expands as a Cold War apocalypse and a hefty debate contribution: In the end, the weapon's race outside the church has reached such hysterical heights that a simple error makes SPOILER everyone shoot at everyone else.
The origin of the children remains in the dark in this English sci.-fi. war drama from Bostonian director Anton M. Leader (The Adventures of Jim Bowie (1957-58)).
It is a sequel to MGM's Village of the Damned (1960) by German Wolf Rilla.
